HMAS Broome intercepts the 53rd illegal boat

HMAS Broome has intercepted the 53rd boat carrying queue jumpers off the north west coast of Western Australia. ironically it is suspected that there are 53 queue jumpers on board, further eroding Labor's claims of a tough stance on the arrival of illegal immigrants and people smugglers.

Since the Pacific Solution, invoked by the previous government to stop the boats coming here, was scrapped by Labor there has been a steady flow of boats arriving in Australia's territorial waters from Indonesia and other countries.

There is only one way to once again stop queue jumpers sailing here and that is to bring back the Pacific Solution.

This is par for the course reaction to soft border protection policy which was created by Labor. It has been nothing but a disaster and until the measures introduced by the last government are brought back then Australia will continue to be regarded as a soft target for people smugglers who are getting rich from the mistaken decisions of the boat people.
